A caring phone call supports independence
Haven Transitions provides emotional and social support to patients who may someday need hospice care, and also provides resources to their families and caregivers. Regular contact helps calm the stress and fears that illness can cause and helps patients to live independently. “I’m very grateful for what Haven Transitions does for me,” said Warren Hensley, 87, who had esophageal cancer but had no plans to take it easy. “I will be the first to say so if I need help.” Haven's Transitions Coordinator called him once a week, which made Warren feel better and also provided peace of mind for his daughters, who live out of town. |
