Get Heirlooms Appraised at Haven Hospice Annual Attic Antique Roadshow & Donation Round-Up
Get those memories out of the closet. The sixth-annual Attic Antique Roadshow & Donation Round-Up is set for July 21at the Haven Hospice Attic Resale Store in Gainesville.
While the event is free and open to the public, if you want those heirlooms appraised by expert John Sikorski, evaluation tickets for a reserved time slot are required and will go on sale July 7 at the Haven Hospice Attic in Gainesville. The store is located at 300 Northwest Eighth Avenue. Appointments are limited, and the event will run from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
More than 90 people bought $10 tickets last year to have items appraised by Sikorski, host of the radio show Sikorski’s Attic. The show is aired Saturdays from noon to 1 p.m. on WUFT-FM (89.1) and WJUF-FM (90.1).
Attendees listened in excitement last year as Sikorski appraised family heirlooms and antiques for their market value. Every piece assessed had an interesting history.
Haven Hospice is encouraging donations to be made prior to the event. Because, in addition to the roadshow, there will be an exclusive area of unique treasures available for sale at the same time.
“If you have antiques and collectibles and are not sure of their value, this is the perfect opportunity. Not only can you find out what they are worth, you can donate them to Haven Hospice at the Attic, where they can help someone in need,” said Michael Ingram, manager of retail operations at the Attic stores.
All of the profits from the Haven Attic stores in Gainesville, Lake City, Chiefland and Orange Park support patient care for those who are not covered by Medicare, Medicaid, or private health insurance. Proceeds also support Haven’s grief support counseling, as well as other community programs.
