Every day is a gift. Every gift makes a difference.

As a community-based, not-for-profit hospice serving North Florida since 1979, we are committed to providing our programs and services regardless of a patient’s ability to pay. One hundred percent of the gifts and donations made to Haven Hospice remain in our communities and help provide care for patients unable to pay, as well as the many unfunded programs and services we offer. Our donor-supported programs and services include:

  • Patient and Family Care
  • Healing Hearts grief support program that provides individual, family and group counseling to help anyone who is coping with loss, regardless of how it occurs.
  • Transitions and Community Outreach provides telephone support, community education and referrals to individuals and families who are dealing with potentially life-limiting illnesses and need additional support.
  • Palliative Massage helps patients relax; decreases pain, stress and anxiety; increases physical comfort; and improves sleep.
  • Pegasus provides hospice services including medical, emotional and spiritual support to our pediatric hospice patients and their families.
  • Camp Safe Haven is a fun-filled day camp that brings together youth who have experienced the loss of a loved one.
  • Volunteer Services. Patient and family volunteers work closely with hospice nurses, social workers, hospice care aides, chaplains and physicians to assist in providing much needed respite and support.

Your tax-deductible donations can help patients and families in many ways. For example:

  • $25 can provide a day’s quantity of medical supplies for 14 patients
  • $100 can provide a day’s supply of medications for 15 patients
  • $1,000 can provide the average cost of caring for one patient and family for one week

Marvelous Marvin
Marvin Smith, 94, is Haven’s oldest Attic volunteer. Marvin enjoys volunteering for Haven Hospice. “I heartily endorse the compassionate, caring ministry of this organization,” he says. “Someone had a great idea to start the Attic. Part of the fascination of working there is the wide variety of people you meet, and it provides resources for people in need.”
