2009 Haven Hospice Attic Antique Show

The third annual Attic Antique Road Show featuring John Sikorski, host of the radio show Sikorski’s Attic —held Feb. 28 at the Haven Hospice Attic Resale Store in Gainesville—raised $5,900. Seventy people brought treasured heirlooms and vintage collectibles for Sikorski  to evaluate, and approximately 140 attended the event.

Sikorski’s motto—“Loving the past, Believing in the future, Appreciating the present”—speaks to anyone who takes pride in owning and collecting things that have been passed down for others to preserve.

The Haven Hospice Attic Resale Store staff appreciates the generous donors who entrust their unwanted treasures to the store for resale. Like the sales at the store, all roadshow proceeds support Haven Hospice’s unfunded patient care, bereavement and community outreach programs. For more information, please call (352) 378-7484.

Massage therapy eases pain for hospice patients
The touch of a hand can bring physical comfort and relief. Massage has been a godsend for Vivian Sallander, who can’t take many medications and resists taking others. It gives her relief for several days at a time. Sallander’s daughter and caregiver, Marjorie Dispenza, relies on the Haven Hospice staff to help with her care. “They have amazing patience.”
