  • Patient and Family Care
Serving patients and their families at home, in nursing homes, in hospitals, and at our care centers. Wherever we serve, we offer comprehensive care and support, helping patients to manage their symptoms and giving families and caregivers the resources and assistance they need.
  • Healing Hearts grief support program
Individual, family and group counseling to help anyone who is coping with grief, regardless of how the loss occurred. Throughout the year, Healing Hearts offers grief support programs for those who have lost a friend, mate, mother, baby or other family member, as well as those who will be facing the holidays after a loss.
  • Pegasus
Medical, emotional and spiritual support to help children from birth to age 18 and their families who are coping with life-limiting illnesses. Haven Hospice also provides support for their families throughout treatment and after a loss.
  • Haven Transitions
Information, resources and referrals to individuals and families who are dealing with potentially life-limiting illnesses. This program specializes in making caregivers aware of helpful resources and support groups. In addition, Transitions offers a program on advance directives—all the legal and health-care documents people need to complete before they are unable to speak for themselves. To receive a free copy of Five Wishes, please call 1-800-727-1889 and ask for Transitions.
  • Palliative Massage
Our licensed massage therapists have specialized training in providing gentle, compassionate touch to our patients—an added benefit of our patient care program. Palliative massage enhances the quality of life by helping patients to relax; decrease pain, stress and anxiety; increase physical comfort; and improve sleep.
  • Volunteer Services
Volunteers are a vital member of the Hospice Care Team. They provide companionship, support and assistance to patients residing at home, in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals and any of Haven Hopsice’s care centers.

Volunteers keep tabs on patients and caregivers
Florence, 93, lives in a nursing home, and she and her daughter, Carolyn rely on a Haven Transitions volunteer to keep tabs on each other between visits. Florence enjoys hearing the Transitions volunteer’s kind, familiar voice, and Carolyn is grateful that someone calls to check on them. Transitions volunteers also support caregivers, many of whom struggle with burnout and fatigue. Said one volunteer, “They just want to know that someone cares.”
