Gainesville, Florida  (June 13, 2014) –  To honor veterans, Haven Hospice obtained five United States (U.S.) flags that once flew over the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, D.C with the assistance of Florida U.S. Senator Bill Nelson and his staff. These flags are now displayed with certificates of authenticity in the five Haven Hospice Care Centers in North Florida: E.T. York Care Center in Gainesville, Custead Care Center in Orange Park, Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City, Tri-Counties Care Center in Chiefland and the Roberts Care Center at the Satterwhite Campus for Care and Compassion in Palatka. The flags are used to honor veteran patients when they leave the care center for the final time.
