Central Florida Electric Cooperative Makes Donation to Haven Hospice
Chiefland, Florida (February 6, 2015) — Central Florida Electric Cooperative, Inc. (CFEC) recently donated more than $2,800 to Haven Hospice after an annual employee cake auction fundraiser.
More than 20 cakes were made by CFEC employees and auctioned off to support the not-for-profit, community-based hospice provider.
“Because ‘Concern for Community’ is one of the CFEC’s highly valued cooperative principles, CFEC strives to conduct multiple fundraisers throughout the year in order to donate to organizations that have touched our employees’ and members’ lives,” said CFEC Communications Specialist Whitney McQueen. “Haven is definitely one of those organizations, and it is our pleasure to donate this money as a thank you for all Haven does to serve the Tri-County area.”
Haven Hospice Assistant Vice President of Operations and Chiefland Administrator DeAnna Beverly accepted the donation on behalf of the Haven Hospice Tri-Counties Care Center in Chiefland.
“The connection between Central Florida Electric and Haven Hospice continues to be a supportive relationship and we are grateful for the company’s support,” said Beverly.
All proceeds will benefit the unreimbursed programs and services provided by Haven Hospice to the patients and families in the Tri-County communities.
