Charles Byram of Mayo, James Williams of Lake City, Walter Stanton of Live Oak and Dowling Park residents Arthur F. Pottle Jr. and Lawrence Templeton were recently recognized for their military service by Haven Hospice Veteran Volunteers. Byram served in the United States (U.S.) Air Force. Williams served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and retired as a command sergeant major as a combat engineer. Pottle served in the U.S. Army as a cavalry colonel during World War II. Templeton served in the U.S. Army Ordinance Corps. Stanton served in the U.S. Air Force as a guard for the general and was on a presidential detail. The Haven Hospice Pinning Ceremony for veteran patients includes a veteran pin, a thank you card signed by the staff and a certificate of appreciation from Haven Hospice which are all presented by volunteer veterans The presentation ends with a salute to honor the veteran's service.
