Haven Hospice is currently in search of talented artists to participate in the Haven ArtsCare Program.

The Haven ArtsCare program provides artists with the opportunity to showcase their work and help the community by raising dollars to fund unreimbursed patient care, education, family support services and other vital community programs offered by Haven.

ArtsCare exhibits can feature either one artist displaying 20 to 30 pieces or multiple artists displaying 5 to 10 pieces each. The work will be displayed for eight weeks, but this time frame can be adjusted as needed. Participating artists donate 35 percent of sales revenue to Haven Hospice.

Linda Goodwin understands how the Haven Hospice ArtsCare program can have a positive impact on patients and families.

“I have had experiences with friends enrolled in hospice care, and I have done workshops with Haven staff,” said Linda, a local artist who has had her work displayed throughout the Haven Hospice E.T. York Care Center since May 1. “Displaying my paintings in these care centers really matters. It can be comforting for the patients and their families to have the art displayed in their rooms while in the care center.”

Goodwin said she became interested in the ArtsCare program because she wanted to display her art where it would bring happiness to others.

“I have a special place in my heart for Haven Hospice,” said Goodwin whose art has been showcased at Picture This! Frame shop and Gallery, the Southern Integrated Medical Building and Advanced Massage Professionals. “I think if something sells that’s great, but I want the patients, families and employees to be able to look at beautiful art when walking in and out of the building.”

Displayed artwork must be matted, framed, with the exception of canvas paintings, be wire hung and include professional labels that state title and price.

To be considered, the artist must complete an exhibiting artist application and return it with a minimum of 10 photos representative of their work.
