Haven Hospice welcomes Anita Howard as the Chiefland administrator for Haven Hospice. Howard joins Haven after 12 and a half years with Royal Oak Nursing Center, a 120-bed skilled nursing facility in Dade City, Florida. She completed the administrator program at Ayers Health and Rehabilitation Center from 2000 to 2001. Howard then transferred to Cypress Cove Care Center where she served as the assistant administrator for six months before being promoted to administrator at Royal Oak Nursing Center.

“Anita was born and raised in the Tri-Counties and understands the importance of Haven Hospice in this area,” said Haven Hospice Vice President of Clinical Operations DeAnna Beverly. “She is a proven leader with a wealth of experience in facilities similar to the Tri-County Care Center. We are very happy to welcome Anita to the Haven family.”

Howard earned her master’s degree in business administration from Saint Leo University, a bachelor’s degree in health care administration also from Saint Leo University, and an associate degree in radiologic technology from Santa Fe College in Gainesville.

“To me, Haven has quickly become an extended family,” said Howard who is originally from Bell, Florida. “I can’t think of a better job to have than to serve the community that raised me. I’m happy to be home.”
