Haven Hospice welcomes Eric Godet who recently accepted the position of vice president of organizational advancement for Haven Hospice. Godet will have the responsibility and accountability for community engagement, legislative and regulatory affairs, and economic development activities, as well as all gifting and philanthropic activities and initiatives of Haven.

Godet is an active community volunteer serving on many local area boards including the Community Foundation of North Central Florida and the Greater Gainesville Chamber of Commerce, where he served as the 2010 chair. Because of a personal experience, Godet was inspired to support hospice services in his community. He has been an active supporter of Haven Hospice for many years serving on the Haven Hospice Board of Directors and the Haven Corporate Advisory Board as well as the AvMed Community Advisory Board.

“My mom battled cancer for some time and refused hospice treatment because she didn’t want the family to feel like she was giving up. After she passed, we regretted not getting hospice services for her. Right around this time, I was offered the opportunity to get involved with Haven Hospice,” said Godet who had made it his mission to let others know about the valuable programs and services hospice organizations can offer individuals and families who are faced with a life-limiting illness. “At the end of the work day, I am very satisfied because I know that I have made a difference.”

Godet is currently president and chief executive officer of Godet Industries International. Previously, Godet was with RTI Biologics for 15 years and was a change agent within the operations, marketing, distribution, donor services and communications departments. Godet earned a bachelor’s degree in theology and biology from St. Leo University in 1985. He and his wife, Dr. Yvette Godet, recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. They have two sons, Eric, Jr. and Aaron.
