More than 160 children met Santa Claus and picked out holiday gifts for their families which were wrapped by dedicated volunteer “elves” at the annual Kids Night at the Haven Hospice Attic Resale Store in Gainesville on December 3.

Haven Hospice employees, volunteers and members of the community donated more than 900 toys and gifts as well as their time and talents to make this a very successful event.  The Haven Hospice Attic Resale Store staff and volunteers collect gift items throughout the year in preparation for the event.

“We are honored to be able to serve the children of the community, that’s what Haven Hospice stands for,” said Gainesville Attic Store Manager Steve Tinney. “Haven is a very community-oriented organization.”

Families came together to experience the holiday spirit with Haven volunteers and Attic staff while children, ages 5 to 12, had the opportunity to choose gifts for their family members using Santa Bucks. Haven also offered pictures with Santa Claus and free gift wrapping.

Haven would like to thank all of our volunteers and Attic staff for making this event a success. “We would especially like to thank Attic Volunteer Olivia Heims,” said Haven Hospice Director of Volunteer Services Courtney Quirie. “She was the driving force behind the Gainesville event and her efforts set the tone for a very successful event.”
