Haven Hospice welcomes Dr. Frank Seck, D.O. as the Lake City Associate Medical Director. Seck joins Haven after serving as the medical director of Hospice Advantage in West Branch, Michigan, an organization that recently merged with Compassus Hospice & Palliative Care. He is a board certified, family practice physician as well as a member of the American Osteopathic Association, Michigan Osteopathic Association and American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians. Seck and his wife, Rita, ran Cedar Avenue Family Practice in Gladwin, Michigan, for 27 years prior to his time with Haven.
“I really wanted to spend more time with patients and help them through these difficult times,” said Seck of his decision to continue in the hospice and palliative care field. “I wanted to continue helping patients and their families navigate end-of-life issues. My wife and I operated a mature adult practice, so this kind of work fits in with that.”
Seck earned his bachelor’s degree in medical technology from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, before attending medical school to become a doctor of osteopathy at Michigan State University. He completed his post graduate training as a family practice intern at Bay Osteopathic Hospital in Bay City, Michigan.
“I was impressed with Haven’s commitment to education and professional support,” said Seck, who has been practicing medicine since 1986, of his decision to join the Haven family. “I really admire their goals regarding patient care.”
