“We were just shopping around at the Attic. We found a really nice dining room set made of bamboo with a matching coffee table,” said Ruth Fields of a recent trip she and her fiancé, Jon Hines, made to the Haven Hospice Attic Resale Store in Orange Park. “We mentioned that we were getting married, and the Attic employees helped us find everything we needed for our wedding in the store.”

Fields and Hines regularly visit the Attic for anything they need. “Ruth and Jon are such a great couple. They have enjoyed their experiences in the Attic so much that they have started the process to become Attic volunteers,” said Haven Hospice Attic Sales Associate Gayle Fink. “We were honored to be able to help them find all that they needed for their wedding.”

The couple is tentatively scheduling their wedding for March. However, the exact date will depend on the arrival of Hines’ brother, and best man, from his work in Afghanistan. Not only did Fields and Hines leave with everything they needed to outfit their wedding, they also added a very valuable member of the wedding party.

“I asked Gayle to be my maid of honor because she has always been really helpful to me whenever I visit the Attic,” said Fields. “She goes out of her way for me and my family. We were looking for dress shirts, but they didn’t have the right sizes. Gayle called us when they had the shirts in stock, and we came in and bought them.”
