The Dixie County Board of Commissioners read a National Hospice and Palliative Care Proclamation into the meeting minutes on November 3 to assist Haven Hospice in reaching out to Dixie County citizens to raise awareness of end-of-life care.

Chairman  of the Dixie County Board of Commissioners Ronnie Edmonds presented the proclamation to Haven Hospice Chiefland Volunteer Coordinator Vondla Sullivan who accepted the presentation of the proclamation on behalf of Haven Hospice.

Haven reaches out to the Tri-Counties and the surrounding communities on a consistent basis to raise awareness for end-of-life care; however, during National Hospice and Palliative Care Month, Haven seeks to amplify these efforts.  The proclamation celebrates and affirms local government commitment to hospice during November’s National Hospice Palliative Care Month. This proclamation is based on the document issued by the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO).
